Patrick Kelly an American designer in Paris. Born in Mississippi and raised by his grandmother who gave him the inspiration and knowledge of sewing and fashion. He was the first African American to be admitted to the Chambre Syndicale du Prêt-à-porter du cuutirier. His clothing are in all major museums around the world. He died in 1989 December 31 and had a very short career .Patrick often designed separate pieces that could be interchangeable with each other. This top or overlay is a great example of one. Made of cotton blend net, the sequins roses are sewn on separately and in a way that the net comes through to define the roses and leaves suite a haute couture sewing technique. The mock turtleneck  has the sequined roses on it. The way they are placed on collar above where it ends some of the rose pattern lays on the neck another great design detail. The sleeves are fitted with a slight flair at the cuff. Snaps up the back for closure. Measures as follows Shoulders 14, Bust 34, Sleeves 23, Armhole 7, Waist 26 Length 31.5=Excellent condition worn only once
