Oscar de La Renta was known for his high fashions and hands on expertise. Many women would go into his store which was below his workshop ,where often surprised ,he came into their dressing room for a proper fitting. Not only did he fit the dress but he also gave them advice about the correct undergarments. Born in the DR, he went to Spain to work in Balenciagas shop name iesa. Balenciaga let him become an apprentice where he learned design and  fabrics. This evening gown is silk chiffon and all ruched In silk crepe which makes a criss cross in the breast area. The rest of the gown is silk. Very simple as he never did anything overstated in his design. His philosophy was ,may she look at the woman and the dress not just the dress. The dress closes in the back, is in excellent condition. Shoulders 15, sleeves 23, bust 34, waist 28, hips 38, armhole 7.5, length 61. Looks like it was worn maybe once
